Bebe Performs with Big Dance Theater

Bebe performs again with Big Dance Theater, at Connecticut College on March 31 and Carolina Performing Arts on April 6.

The evening includes The Road Awaits Us, created in 2016 for Sadler’s Wells Elixir Co. by Annie-B Parson. It’s staged as a birthday party for a company of esteemed dance elders (Elizabeth DeMent, David Dorfman , Meg Harper, Paul Lazar, Peggy Pettitt, Keith Sabado, Sheryl Sutton, David Thomson, and Bebe), and based loosely on an absurdist play by Eugène Ionesco.

Cage Shuffle: A Duet is danced by Paul Lazar and Bebe. While dancing, Paul and Bebe also recite John Cage’s 60-second Zen lectures on grandmothers, ad agencies, rabbis, mushrooms, et al.
